EID MUBARAK (Blessed Celebration)

EID MUBARAK (Blessed Celebration)

On May 2nd our seniors celebrated Eid, a Muslim festival that takes place at the end of Ramadan – a month of prayer and fasting. It is “the festival of the breaking of the fast” and it begins with the first sighting of the new moon. Seniors dressed up in their best attire and the locations were impressively decorated. They sang songs that elevated the spirit of the festival. Special food and sweets were distributed. Many seniors honored the festival by giving speeches. Our very own senior Ms. Mehurun Nisa said, “It is truly nice to see all seniors get together at the UMAS centers and celebrate this festival regardless of what caste or creed they belonged to. We thank UMAS for meticulously celebrating all the festivals. I wish the whole world can follow this and stay united and peaceful”. That was a very capturing speech and a lesson for the whole world to follow! Eid Mubarak…
