Creating a Motherland for Our Seniors – Ganesh Festival

Ganesh Festival

This auspicious day is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh; the symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune, the elephant-headed son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. All our ADS centers celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. All participants welcomed Ganesha with dancing and singing. Then they did Ganesh Sthapana, pooja, and arti, and offered prasad to Ganpati Bappa. All looked happy and blessed. They all ate special prasad on that day. The Ganesh Chaturthi festival ends on Anant Chaturdashi which is performed by immersion of the Ganesh Idol in a body of water like a river or sea. The festival celebrates Ganesha as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence.
