Makar Sankranti means the transition of the sun into the Capricorn of the zodiac which is believed as one of the most auspicious occasions as per Hinduism and is welcomed by the people with lots of celebration and festivities. Sky on Makar Sankranti is filled with colorful kites which are a very lovely treat for the occasion. Makar Sankranti is a festival that is enjoyed by everyone and spreads the message of togetherness and harmony. Our seniors celebrated the Makar Sankranti/Uttarayan/Lohri at various locations. They enjoyed making kites and having food together. Our seniors also performed for Lohri in the Naperville location. The same festival is celebrated all over India, but it has different names. Lohri in North, Pongal in South, Makar Sankranti in Western parts, Gujarat calls it Uttarayan. Altogether it is the same festival.
