ADS Activities: Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, when we reflect on trends in breast cancer research, prevention, and treatment. For nearly four decades now, the country has recognized October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time annually devoted to educating everyone about breast cancer — including metastatic breast cancer (MBC) — and the importance of early detection and access to timely, high-quality care. According to the National Cancer Institute, almost 298,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 43,000 will die of the disease in 2023.
